was born in Bedford in 1977 and currently lives in Stroud, Gloucestershire. She completed her MA at the Royal College of Art in May 2005. In 2007 she won The Darbyshire Award, held at the Museum in the Park, Stroud. Recent exhibitions include her solo show Confines and Mutations at Stroud Valleys Artspace, Feb 2008. She has exhibited in Denmark for European Ceramic Context 2006. Last year she took part in a summer residency at Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada. Commissions include working with Sir Terence Conran and partners at the Chelsea Flower show 2005. Permanent collections include the V&A. Her work investigates the experience of what she terms ‘artificial nature’, focusing in particular on the botanical. She explores themes of attraction/repulsion, familiar/unfamiliar and the fear of other-wordliness by examining the conventions of display within which human culture frames the natural world. In doing so she presents a reflection on the contemporary situation of the relationship between nature and culture.
